Dex-O-Tex High-Performance Bio-Tex Systems Support Advanced Global Biopharmaceutical Project

Dex-O-Tex, a division of Crossfield Products Corp, recently supplied high-performance flooring and wall systems for an advanced biopharmaceutical research facility in San Diego, California.

Developed for a global biopharmaceutical leader, the facility is designed to support cutting-edge scientific research and the development of next-generation therapies. The highly specialized environment brings together sophisticated laboratory, research, and technical spaces where material performance, cleanliness, durability, and long-term reliability are critical.

Led by general contractor BNBuilders with installation by Oakridge Industries, the project incorporated approximately 30,000 square feet of Dex-O-Tex Bio-Tex CF flooring and 90,000 square feet of Dex-O-Tex Bio-Tex Wall, approximately 120,000 square feet of specialized surface systems in total.

High-Performance Protection from Floor to Wall

Approximately 30,000 square feet of Bio-Tex CF was incorporated throughout the facility. Designed for demanding pharmaceutical and life science applications, Bio-Tex CF provides a seamless flooring solution engineered to support environments where cleanliness, durability, chemical resistance, and reliable long-term performance are essential.

The project also included approximately 90,000 square feet of Bio-Tex Wall, extending that protection beyond the floor and helping create durable, cleanable surfaces throughout critical areas of the facility.

Together, these systems provide a comprehensive approach to surface protection, helping support the demanding performance requirements associated with modern biopharmaceutical research environments.

Specialized Installation at Significant Scale

Executing approximately 120,000 square feet of specialized flooring and wall systems within an advanced research facility requires more than high-performance materials. Proper installation, coordination, and attention to detail are equally critical.

Oakridge Industries served as the Dex-O-Tex factory trained installer for the project, bringing the expertise required to execute Dex-O-Tex systems across the facility’s technically demanding environments.

Working in coordination with BNBuilders, Dex-O-Tex and Oakridge Industries helped deliver surface systems designed to perform within a facility where precision and quality extend into virtually every aspect of the built environment.

The project demonstrates the importance of collaboration between manufacturer, installer, general contractor, and project teams when delivering highly specialized life science facilities at this scale.
